40 days to reflect

In the past, I've always looked at Lent as a time to really challenge myself to see how much sacrifice I can really perform. But looking back, I don't think I ever fully realized that I needed to be doing these things not for myself but as a testament to what Jesus had to go through. As Krista, explained it to me, it's not so much about the sacrifices you make but the good that you will do and continue to do after the Lenten season. With that in mind, this is really the first year that I have some lofty goals to achieve. Some are because Krista has nudged me to do, but each is something I also have a vested interest in, not just for myself but to better myself for others.

Sacrifices:
- Crane machines and all types of games related to them
- Swearing

To better myself:
- Be more open minded towards ideas and people
- Participate in at least one spiritual retreat during my last semester here (I am attending a Silent Based Retreat in the middle of March)
- Attend mass at every dorm during the 40 days of Lent

These are pretty big goals for me and I hope that I can achieve them to the best of my ability.
